Hi, I'm Joanna Wilkinson, style expert and creator of Keep Austin Stylish. Let's talk a little bit about tall boots and what to wear with them. Tall boots are a fashion footwear must-have for the cooler months, but figuring out what to wear with them can be a little tricky. When choosing what skirt or dress to wear with your tall boots there are a few factors that come into play. First you must consider the length of the boot. You want to make sure that the amount of leg you are showing is not only appropriate and comfortable but also pleasing to the eye. This is especially important if you aren't wearing any tights or leggings. If your boots are high above the knee, then you can get away with wearing a much shorter skirt than you might normally wear. However, the other thing you must consider is the height of the heel of the boot. The taller the heel then the longer your skirt should be. So, if your over-the-knee boots also have a four inch heel, then wearing a mini skirt is probably going to make you look like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" before she goes shopping on Rodeo Drive. So just remember, the higher the top of the boot, the shorter the skirt can be. The higher the heel of the boot, the longer the skirt can and should be.
