Hi, I'm Seane Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. Pleated skirts are not saved just for private school uniforms. In fact, I recently seen accordion pleated skirts and dresses on a ton of my favorite style icons and I love this look. The texture of pleated fabric adds an interesting and flirty effect to your ensemble. However, when pairing your pleated separates with an outfit make sure to keep the rest simple. You want to try and balance the volume of the pleat with a more tailored and classic pieces on top. Today, Caitlyn is wearing this awesome Italian vintage skirt in a cool colorful print. The accordion pleated fabric in maxi length make this piece a fun bold statement. In order to balance that I've added a more tailored oxford shirt in a casual olive color. The muted tone and polished silhouette make this shirt a great partner to the vibrant skirt. Next to bring attention to the waistline, I've knotted a simple brown leather belt. The industrial feel of a tied front gives us a masculine element to the feminine skirt and further ties in the oxford blouse. Finally, I've finished the look with a cute pair of gold metallic jelly flats. The hint of gold offers a feminine and unexpected detail to complete the look.
