Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm a fashion stylist. There are so many ways you can rock your platform shoes. With great jeans, shorts, skirts, and of course dresses. Our model Heather is wearing one option. She has on a sheik and conservative fitted black sheik dress. This dress is appropriate for so many occasions. Work, dinner, cocktails, events, weddings, it's extremely versatile. If she's off to work she throws on some pumps with the dress. But lets say Heather wears this to the office during the day and then she wants to add some more punch for her post work date or event. That's where the platforms come in. The shoes ooze sex appeal. I put her in some chocolate round gladiator sandals from Bebe. The platform sandal has a regular heel and a lift under the ball of your foot that is usually around one to two inches. The genius of these shoes is that they enable you to walk on a ridiculously high heel. Think four to five inches without feeling like you are walking on a ridiculously high heel. They are a short woman's dream. I cover her legs by adding some patterned brown tights. These help keep her warm in the chillier months. I also love the way the tights keep her looking long. But she can always go bare legged especially during the summer. I accentuated her slim waist and echoed the edginess of the shoes by adding a brown and black waist belt. I finished off the look with some gold accessories picking up on the gold in the belt and the shoes. She looks gorgeous and will definitely wow her date. One thing to consider when choosing a look for your platforms, don't show too much skin. If you wear a skirt or a mini skirt for example make sure you keep your top covered. If you opt for a tank or halter top wear jeans or pants. Platform shoes can easily walk a fine line between trendy and trashy. So step forward with caution.
