Hi, I'm Seane Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. Peasant skirts are normally characterized by being constructed from multiple tiers of fabric rather than just a single panel like a normal maxi skirt. These tiers of fabric allow peasant skirts their movable shapes and make them a fun and comfortable item to wear during the warmer months. But when putting together a look with your peasant skirt, keep in mind that they're extremely Bohemian and as is true with overdoing any trend, an overdose of Bohemian can turn out wrong. A good method to maintain balance is to refine the rest of your look and allow the peasant skirt to be your statement piece. Today, Beth is wearing a cute floral peasant skirt. I love the color palette of this piece because the navy base gives it an elegant feel while the Earthy tones and tiny flowers add to its Bohemian vibe. On top I've kept it simple by tucking in a little black camisole. Tucking in your top always makes you appear slightly more finished and is one of the key details here that makes this look more refined. Another polished element is the belt. As peasant skirts frequently have elastic waistlines, I always recommend wearing them with a belt. Doing so not only highlights your waistline but also adds a more tailored structure to your look. As you can see I've added a thick brown belt which defines Beth's mid section well but if you'd like, opt for a belt that is slightly thinner as long as its width covers the elastic waistband. Now for accessories, I've added an awesome necklace by Hay Murphy whose industrial hardware allow it to be slightly unexpected and finally, an understated copper and leather bangle and a pair of chic, black sandals complete the look.
