Hi, I'm Seane Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. Whether the cardigan brings to mind Mr. Rogers or the 1950s, where the poodle skirt and matching sweater reigned, it's true that this piece will always be a part of fashion. Today, the long cardigan is seeing its run in fashion but it's sometimes hard to decipher the best way to add this to your ensemble without looking frumpy. Today, Emma is wearing a long black cardigan by Stuart and Brown. What's great about this piece is that it's cut similar to a jacket, allowing it to be a great alternative to your normal Fall weather outwear, plus the sash tied waist allows this thickly knitted piece to stay snug to your body maintaining your feminine shape. I've added underneath a yellow and white linen dress by Audrey 3 Plus 1 to show you that a long cardigan can actually help you transition some of your favorite Spring and Summer dresses into Autumn. I've added a long gold necklace by Jennifer Elizabeth and finished the look with a pair of metallic ballerina flats by Yosi Samara. If the weather fares too cold for bare legs, consider adding a pair of black tights and boots to this look and you're ready for a walk through the city.
