Hi, I'm Seane Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. While flannel shirts are inherently masculine by design, this doesn't mean that they can't be a casual staple in a woman's wardrobe. When choosing your flannel shirt, start with fit. It's best to choose a flannel that hugs closely to the shape of your body but still maintains a slightly loose fit. Also, you want to make sure the buttons aren't pulling between the closures across your bust line as this suggests a poor fit. Flannel shirts are best when they're a bit baggy. Today Beth is wearing a cute flannel in a classic navy red and white pattern. This top is great because the material is slightly thinner than the Winter flannel and can be used alone or as a layering piece in the colder months. I've tucked the flannel into a pair of cool wide legged denim. The 70s inspired fit and true blue wash make these denims slightly more interesting than your average pair of skinnies and give this look an ultra cool and semi dressy feel. Finally, I've added a pair of neutral platform sandals to pull together a chic but casual look.
