Hi, I'm Seane Marie and I'm a fashion stylist. Contrary to what some might think, wearing a brooch is not only reserved for our grandmothers. In fact, we can use it as a cute accessory to add an interesting touch and personalized look to our outfit. The first thing to keep in mind when deciding where to place your brooch is placement. You want your brooch to serve a purpose, or at least appear that it's doing so. It doesn't normally work to just place a brooch in the middle of a large piece of fabric and let it hang, but if you want to use it just as an accent, put it at a place that makes sense like the lapel of a blazer or a blouse. Another way that I really love to use a brooch is as a fastening piece. While there are many options for this use, today I'm going to show you three of my favorite. First, Beth is wearing a cute printed poncho which is a stylish and fun alternative to a jacket but sometimes these ponchos can get a little annoying as they slip off off your shoulders. That's why I love to use a brooch as a closure to keep your poncho in place. As you see here, not only is it a functional element, but it also adds an interestingly hint of style to this look. Another cool way to use a brooch is as a fastener for a headscarf. As you see here, I've attached this one slightly off to the side but you can place with the placement. This is a fun way to add some extra style to your head scarves and finally, my favorite use for the brooch is as a chic attachment for a neck scarf. While simply tying a neck scarf works fine, I love to add a brooch for a bit of extra interest and style. As you see here, the colors of the brooch really compliment the copper scarf and tie together the look. This option is a cute statement for any outfit.
