About the Expert
Hi, this is Kristie Kennedy, professional makeup artist. Today, we'll be discussing how to wear bright shadows on dark skin. The products that you will need: a primer, bright colors, black eyeliner and your eye shadow brushes. Let's begin. Our first step is to prime the lid, this is going to allow that makeup, that color to really burst out and I go about halfway up. This is going to help accentuate that color, allow it to last a lot longer and prevent creasing. And that is our first step. And our second step is to apply the color on the inner corner of the eye, working our way outward. I start with a light application and build that way you don't have too much product all at once and go right to the crease, midway up, blend in, your windshield wiper motion and do the same for the other eye, starting with light strokes from left to right, to the crease and blend back and forth, a nice smooth consistency and that is your second step. And our last and final step will be to apply an eyeliner to the rim of the lid. I start from the inner corner working my way outward just to define the lid, the eyelash line, short strokes. And do the same for the other eye, short strokes out. It's really going to help those lashes appear long when you place your mascara on. And that is your final step. And that is how you apply bright shadow for darker skin. Remember your take home product, a nice bright turquoise eye shadow. This is Kristie Kennedy. Thank you for watching.
