Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm a fashion stylist. One of the most classic, sophisticated and easy ensembles to throw on is a blazer with jeans. Our model, Heather, can show you the look. She's wearing an Alice and Olivia black blazer with a great pair of dark wash skinny jeans. The darker the wash of the jean, the more elongating and slimming they are. If you would prefer a more classic jean, you can swap these skinny jeans for a more universally flatting boot cut jean or try the denim De'jour, the flared or bell bottomed jean. The blazer is so classic it will work with whatever jeans you feel great in and want to wear. On top Heather is wearing a really beautiful silk shell under her blazer. I love the graphic print on this shell. It's interesting enough to wear along if you get hot and want to shed the blazer. It's also more casual without the jacket but the blazer definitely makes the overall look a bit more polished and sophisticated. When looking for your blazer make sure the fabric is appropriate for the season. In Spring, Summer you'll want cotton or linen and in Fall, Winter look for wool, wool blends, silk and cashmere jackets. You should also be aware of length and fit. A good rule of thumb with length, find a blazer that falls to the widest part of your hips. On her feet our model is wearing a fabulous black shooty, that's a shoe booty combo. This pair is by Gucci and pretty pricey but there's no reason you can't find a similar shoe that's more budget friendly. Our model could also rock a pair of knee high or ankle boots with this look.
