Hi, I'm Seane Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. Black wool coats are a perfect staple piece for Winter. Black goes with nearly everything and I'm of the thinking that you can never have too much. So while a black wool coat can go with nearly any Winter ensemble, be it a sweater with skinny jeans and boots or a long dress, tights and booties, today I'm going to show you a fun approach to the wool coat. Amber is wearing a long black wool coat that hits about mid thigh. This is a perfect length to keep you warm without being too long. Underneath I've added a chic white shirt dress by Minnie Mortimer. As you can see here, shirt dresses are a great layering piece and I love the balance it creates with this longer coat. I've belted the dress to visually create a waistline underneath all the bulk. Next I've added a pair of over-the-knee socks. If this look is too uncovered for you, try a pair of sheer tights instead to keep your legs warmer. I've finished the look with a pair of brown booties for a less obvious style choice. The creamy brown contrasts well with the black socks and coat and allows the sock and shoe to not run together visually. Finally, complete the look with a scarf on top for a pop of color and extra warmth.
