Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm a fashion stylist. I love sweater dresses. When it's cold outside, it's a way for you to feel warm, but also feminine and sexy. One way to style your sweater dress is with a belt. Our model, Heather, has on a chic cashmere light gray sweater dress. I think wearing black with gray is a no-brainer. I paired her sweater dress with a wide black waist belt. A waist belt is a great way to create a defined waist and that uber-desirable hourglass shape. If you don't have curves, this is a simple way to create the illusion that you do. Not every body type, though, can wear the waist belt. Women with large chests and short upper bodies should probably avoid the look. Extreme bottom curvy, and ladies with round midsections should also be wary. The last thing you want to do is highlight your problem areas. To finish off her look, I put Heather in some black tights, great black leather ankle boots, and some silver accessories. When picking out your sweater dress, be sure to look for interesting and thoughtful details. The simple keyhole cutout at the top of this dress, for example, adds sexiness, and makes that dress stand out. You can also try different widths of belts. With this dress, I could try a skinny black croc belt, a simple elastic black band, a gold belt. A chic red belt would really pop against the gray. Don't be afraid to mix things up. That's how you find new and fresh ways to wear your clothes.
