Hi, I'm Seanne Marie, and I'm a fashion stylist. Dressing for the beach sometimes isn't just as easy as throwing on your swimsuit. In fact, as the weather at many beaches can get a little chilly once the sun goes down it's important to plan accordingly. Thus functionality is key when choosing your ensemble. You'll want to make sure that you have something that works both as a cover up for your swimsuit but also will offer some warmth for the evening hours. Today, Beth is wearing a brightly colored swimsuit as the base of our outfit. Over the top, as a cover up, I've layered a pinstriped button down shirt. I love layering a button down over a swimsuit as it offers a semi masculine and tailored feel to your beach side ensemble. And by tyeing it in the front like you see here I've created a very of the moment look. Next I've added a pair of white cutoff shorts. These are great because they are casual in nature but the denim material is durable which is perfect for the outdoor elements. Now for functionality and style I've added a cool vintage straw hat to guard Beth from the sun. Finally, a pattern canvas carryall tote and a pair of flat gladiator sandals pull together this sheik, beach-appropriate look.
