Hi, my name is Cati James. I'm a hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to get some volume in very short hair without using a blow dryer. So the tools we're going to use today, a comb and a light weight water based pomade. So we're going to start out with the back, using your comb you're going to use the very tip of it and just tease it a little bit at the roots and this is going to give it some more texture. I have very fine hair so a lot of times to keep volume in it you need to tease it and by starting in the back it's just going to make that whole hair look thicker. And just keep going around. It might look a little crazy for a second but it will all come down in the end. Keep going, give yourself some Alfalfa spikes but we need to do this work so that in the end you're going to get some volume on it. You're not going to look this crazy. So just keep moving forward, moving forward in sections. It doesn't have to be perfect and then when you get to the front you're going to leave the very front alone and then just right up to the bangs, keep teasing, keep teasing and then just scrunch it with your fingers so you get some height on it and then to make it stay, we take our pomade, just cover about two fingers, not too much and then just rub it through your hands and again that same scrunching motion and it depends on how funky you want it, how high you want it. It doesn't have to be too crazy but scrunch it through, have some fun with it, get some spikes going and you can leave the front like that or if you like it out of your face you can just use a little of the pomade to slick it to one side. And that's how you get volume in your short hair. Our main tool for this was our comb was our comb, it really adds the volume with the teasing.
