Hi, I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today, I'm going to give you a few tips on how to make eyes look bigger and brighter. In order to make your eyes look bigger and brighter, it's all about proper shading, proper contouring and highlighting in all the right places. I've already started her eyes with a little liner, curling her lashes and some mascara just to get her started and now I'm going to show you exactly how to do it. Today, I'll be using Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion in Blue Blowout. So you'll notice this palette has a lot of beautiful shades of blue and we're going to use this color to really enhance her eyes but also we're going to use this soft pearly color to highlight in the corners, on the brow bone, but before I get into this shadowing with color I'm going to use a little bit of concealer right under the brow bone. This will help create a more of an illusion of a popping open eyed effect, bringing a little more light and drama to the arch of the eye. Next I'm going to start by using this pale shimmery blue eye shadow right in this inner corner of the eye. What I like about this is that it has a lot of light reflecting properties so it's sure to catch the light and make this inner part of the eye stand out and seem more open and brighter. When you use light colors especially those that have shimmer, it will pull things out and forward. So if you have receded eyes or they're deeper set, this may be a great technique for you to help the eye pop and see more open and brighter. Also you can use it right on the lid of the eye to help this area of the eye look bigger and more open as well. I'm going to use this secondary color which is more matte but it still has a lovely shade right on the lid focusing on the outer part of the eye right into the middle center part of the eye. We'll do the same thing over here. Now if you're afraid or not sure about using a color like blue, obviously this is a great option for her because of her beautiful red hair, you can use something neutral. You could use browns, you know, shimmering pale beige-y golds or champagnes instead of this soft kind of baby blue and it would work fine or you could use other colors, peaches, pinks anything that's got that light shimmery effect will help really pop and then a little color or even a neutral on the lid can help shade and further extend the eye color. I'm going to use this more deeper, it's kind of a periwinkle color on the outer third of the eye and really focusing on bringing it up into the crease and down by the lash line. By doing this I'm creating the illusion of a larger shaped eye. It's making it look big by keeping this light color here and bringing it out and darker here which helps further shade and contour the eye. You can do the same technique with any range of light to dark colors, with shimmer and matte, all the way from the center of the eye to the outer part of the eye. And now just to further brighten the eye I'm going to take a little bit of color on this Q-tip, there's this pale pale shimmery blue and maybe even a little bit of the silver and just bring it right under the eye. I'll have you look up and I'm going to bring it right under here and just blend it softly. Just enough to give it a little more of a pop and create a little more drama underneath the eye. Q-tips are a great way to deposit color directly where you need it. What I love about this look is it's going to be very easy for you to do at home. Notice how the shape and the shading and the color work in harmony to create this perfect hombre of color making the eye look fresher and more open and alive. You'll see this pale color in here fades into the deeper tons and it extends outward and this little bit of crease helps contour the eye and the depth that I told you remember at the beginning, I already done liner and mascara, maybe you'll finish with this at home but I did it just so you can see as we went along it creates that perfect depth at the lash line and there you have it, that is how to make eyes look bigger and brighter. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
