About the Expert
Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark, Professional Hairstylist and Salon Owner. And today, I'm going to give you tips on giving fuller hair. It's all about lifting the roots to get fuller hair and I'm going to show you a trick that you can do at home using a blow dryer and just tilting your head over and literally lifting those roots up and letting them cool and then dropping your hair and you'll have really big hair after that. I'm also going to use a little bit of hairspray at the roots to really get some hold. And for the hairspray, I'm going to use the Garnier Fructis Volumizing Anti-Humidity Hairspray. So, the first thing I want to do, I'm just going to go in with our model Jamie and just spray right at the roots and just start working a little bit of that hairspray in. This will give us some texture and help distribute the spray through the hair. And I'm just spraying right at the roots, that's my main concern right now. And I'm just doing two light little sprays, you don't want to, you don't want to coat the hair with too much product; so just a, a little spritz and just lifting the hair and spreading that. Okay, you can kind of distribute the product through with your hands. Once you have the product in there, then we're going to go and start blow drying the hair. I'm going to have Jamie tilt her head over so that all the hair is falling forward and we're going to start at the bottom and blow dry that all the up away and towards the face. So, now, I'm just over directing all the hair forward and up right off of its base. This is going to give us ton of volume to work with. I'm going to go ahead and spray a little bit more hairspray just underneath and then, I'm going to go in with the dryer. And with that hairspray that's already been established in there, I'm going to go in and, and blow dry that through the hair. And just blow drying those roots straight up off the base, just getting a little bit of heat at the roots. So, the main idea is just blow drying the hair right off of its base, getting tons of lift at the roots so that when it pulls back in its natural position, it has that memory and thickness and volume. Now, with all that hair brushed forward, you can still feel there's a little bit of heat at the roots, so just keep it brushed forward until it cools, that'll really help set the style. And then once it's cool, instead of throwing your head back really quickly, you just want to slowly, slowly go ahead and lift back and that really preserves all that body for you. I'm just going to smooth out the ends, really, I'm not trying to, to pull too much of that volume out. So, just kind of smoothing out the bottom part. There you go, you can see we've gotten all sorts of volume and lift out of Jamie's hair while keeping it still looking smooth and healthy. This is a trick you can do at home with just a blow dryer and some hairspray is all you need. There you go, there's a few tips for getting fuller hair. I'm Jeremy Clark, thanks for watching.
