Hi, my name is Ana, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to share with you some eye shadow and mascara tips. The first thing I'm going to show you are a few eye shadow tips. Whenever you apply eye shadow, always use an eye shadow base, which I have already applied to my lids. This helps the eye shadow stay on longer and makes it look smoother throughout the day. Next, I'm going to show you a basic eye. What a basic eye will allow you to do is to add any color of eye shadow, so you could transition from day to night. I'm going to start by applying a light toned color eye shadow all over the lid. So, just take the color from the lash line all the way up to your brow bone. This helps to brighten the eyes, and just prepares it for any kind of other eye shadow color you want to add to it. Next, I'm going to take a medium tone brown color and use it in the crease. By using a blending brush, I'm going to apply it back and forth until it's nicely blended. This is a basic eye. This is what makeup artists refer to as a very basic eye that you can add any color to. You can add purple, pink, black, any color you want to the lid or the outer corner of the eyes. And because your eye already has color and definition, it will go great with any of those shades. Next, I'm going to move on to mascara. A great way to apply mascara is to first use a fresh mascara. You don't want it to be old, because then it gets clumpy. Take the brush and place it on the lashes, and slightly push in for about a few seconds. Maybe like two seconds. Then move it in an outward motion. Go back and press in for a little bit, and then push it out. What that's doing is it's creating a lifting motion so the eyelashes look longer and more lifted. It also helps if you take the base of the brush and just kind of move it back and forth. Again, slightly push in and then flare it out and then move the brush back and forth. All these techniques will just help the eyelashes to really pop. It's a good idea to use a waterproof mascara on the lower lashes. This way you avoid smudging. These are just a few tips that I recommend when applying eye shadow and mascara. So, have fun with it.
