About the Expert
Hi. I'm Jeremy Clark, professional hairstylist and salon owner, and today I'm going to show you how to do a sleek and chic ponytail. OK. The tools that you'll need at home, a few bobby pins, a rubber band, a natural boar bristle brush, and back combing comb, a vented brush and a flexible hold hairspray. I'm going to use the Garnier Fructis Flexible Control anti-humidity Hairspray. OK so I'm just going to start by spraying a little bit of hairspray on my hand, running it through our model Brittany's roots, and spray a little bit more and you just want to work that product through with your fingers, and just lightly smoothing down the fly aways. And brush through it just a bit, just to clean up the back. For, my placement, I'm looking right about at her eye level. So, if you can kind of imagine a line running from the back of her head to the front. That's my guide. Once you have the ponytail placed, you can kind of set it, pull it tight, and then we're going to take a piece of hair and just wrap to camouflage the rubber band. And we're just going to hide that little bit of hair that's left, with a rubber band. I'm going to tuck it right inside. OK. And now you can go back with your hairspray and just clean up all the little fly aways. I'm going to spray a little bit on my hand. OK. So, you can see we've created a ponytail that's not too high, so it's not too high fashion. It's not too low and casual. It's just very sleek, very clean, great for going out to cocktail parties or red carpet events. And there you go. That's how you do a quick, simple, sleek and chic ponytail. I'm Jeremy Clark. Thanks for watching.
