About the Expert
Hi, my name is Susan, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to be able to heal chapped skin. Now there are a couple of ways of doing it and there are some tools that you'll need to be able to achieve that. One and most important being a great moisturizer. Now if you tend to be more on the oily side you'll want an oil free moisturizer. If you are more on the dry side you are going to want a creamier moisturizer. Now depending on your skin type you'll pick your moisturizer and apply it after cleansing. And another important fact about keeping your skin from looking chapped is that when you do wash your face you want to use warm water instead of really hot water. Because hot water strips your skin of it's natural oils. And another thing is to seek a moisturizer that contains SPF, and always wear sunscreen, especially in the summer. Because these heat waves we've been having are no joke. So make sure you moisturize completely and remember not to use too much moisturizer. A pea size or a dime size is a perfect amount. So there you have it. Your skin should be nice and moist, it will feel a little soothed. Now again, the most important piece you need in this is a great moisturizer. Oil free if you are oilier skin and a really creamy if you have drier skin. There you have. I hope you feel nice and soothed and I'll speak to you real soon.
