Hi, I'm Liz. I'm a hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to get a sleek straight look for short hair. The tools we're going to be using are a blow dryer, a nozzle, a paddle brush, a comb, smoothing serum, spray on shine and a little flat iron. So first we're going to start by applying the smoothing serum. I'm going to use just a dime size and I always like to start applying the product in the back first that way we don't get too much in one spot. Work the product into the front, just until you feel like all the product is off your hands. Alright, so now that we have that done, we're going to work the blow drying in sections. So we want to take the top section and just comb it out of the way. So I'm going to blow dry the hair, starting in the back section, using my paddle brush, side to side and down and using the nozzle to control the air flow. Then once I get the back blow dried, I'm going to work onto the sides, using one side at a time, doing it in the same manor towards my face with the paddle brush, away from my face, and down, going to do that on both sides. Then, once I finish the back and the sides, I'm going to take the top section, which is going to the last section, we're going to take it into little sections, like this and we're just going to blow dry the same way we did the back and the sides, until the entire top section is finished. The nozzle is really important for this because it controls the air flow, it's going to help make the hair a lot smoother and a lot straighter. Okay, so now that we've finished blow drying the hair, we can start by using our little flat iron to flat iron it. So I'm going to do it much like I did when I was blow drying it, taking it in little sections. I like to just pick up little sections of the hair that look like they need a little bit more work and just glide the flat iron through it. And you can see that I'm not yanking the flat iron through the head. It's really important just to kind of glide it through, even beveling it a little bit, just so it keeps shape into it. You don't want it to be lifeless and flat, you just want it to be smooth and sleek. And once you get it there, we'll take our spray on shine. Just use a couple of sprays. It's an oil based product so you don't want to use too much of it and then you can just kind of comb it into the hair, just makes it nice and shiny, and kind of smooths it out a little bit. And there you have it, a sleek straight look for short hair, thanks for watching!
