Hi, I'm Krysta and I'm a beauty stylist in Tampa, Florida, and I'm going to show you how to do messy updos for medium hair. To do this, I'm going to need three ponytail holders, long bobby pins, short bobby pins and hairspray. So first off, you're going to section your hair out into three sections. The first section is going to be like the front quarter of the hair, from the top of the ear to the center of the head down to the middle of the part. The second section is going to be exactly the same and then the third section is obviously the rest. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take this entire section and braid it, this section and braid it and this section and braid it. Let me go ahead and show you. I'm just going to turn around. So basically, in the center back I had a French braid going all the way down. At the bottom, I'm just going to take my ponytail, secure it. Braids are really fun right now. I think that they're really in and they help show like the texture in the hair which is kind of really cool. So essentially, this doesn't look messy but just one sec I'm going to mess it up and make sure all your ponytails are secure. This one's starting to fall out a little on me here. So, I'm going to take, and you want to leave a good little ending. My little pieces at the end were a little too short, so, make sure you have about two, two and a half inches and then you're going to want to take the middle of the hair, pull this down a little and then just work it up. And essentially, I'm going to loosen up my braid with my hands, except that part is a little messy. Now, I'm going to do the same thing up here and I don't think that I left myself enough room here so I'm going to just take this ponytail a little bit further up. Alright, then pull it down, take out the middle and see how that just like changes the whole look of the braid and your goal here is not to be neat so you can be as messy as you want. So, I just took out that ponytail and I'm going to clip this back, take that side piece with my short bobby pins and I'm going to go ahead and just clip it back. Again make sure that your pins are crossed when you do that, just loosen it up and you might have to work it out a little bit more just because that's the nature of the beast. And then, you're going to take your bobby pin and cross it again. And that's how you do messy updos for medium hair. My number one tool for creating this style was my ponytail. I hope you can recreate it at home. My name is Krysta. Thanks for watching.
