About the Expert
Hi I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm here to show you makeup to wear to a job interview. When you are going for a job interview, it's important to remember that you look fresh and approachable, not overly stylized or trendy, especially if you are going in for an interview where you'll be dealing with the public. So it's important to focus on defining the features, evening out the skin tone and putting your best face forward. I'm going to show you how to do it by using the Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Duo in Sunkissed Olive. So I've chosen a color that's neutral but it will also give some definition to her face. You will notice that Kendall's skin tone has a beautiful golden undertone so I chose an eye shadow that will compliment that, a beautiful olive and then a little bit of a shimmering gold. So I'll be start by using the soft golden olive color right on her arch of her brow to give a little definition and catch the light. So we'll start by smoothing that under the arch of each eyebrow, blending carefully, just to give a little bit of light. I'm going to also use this color on the inside corner of her eye and blend it right into the middle part of her eye. I'm going to use this pale golden color right on the lid from the inner corner right onto the center of the eye. This will help catch the light and a little definition. Next I'm going to use this dark olive color and shadow the eye, using it on the outer third and blending it up into the crease, giving greater definition to the eye and a little bit of color. Notice the palette we used is neutral. It's not flashy. I wouldn't recommend using blues or purples on a a job interview. You want something that's more in the natural kind of family. There is a little color but it's still very neutral and subdued which allows you to be the star not the makeup. So we're just finishing up her eye shadow. I've shaded the corners and contour of her eye and then if you'll notice, look up, I've come under the eye and just softly blended from the outer corner into the inner third of the eye. This just gives a little haze, a little more definition in the lash line without looking like a heavy liner. So we're going to finish her makeup using a little mascara to complete the lashes giving greater definition and enhancement to the eyes. So I finished her look by doing a little bit of a cheek. You'll notice there's a beautiful peachy tone that compliments the olives in the eyes so a little bronzy warm peach and then her lip tone we've also given a little more color, a soft kind of apricot with a sun kissed bronze undertone. And there you have it. I'm Spencer Barnes and that is how to wear makeup to a job interview.
