Hi, my name is Cati James. I'm a hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to keep short hair back. So the tools we're going to be using today: a lightweight water based pomade, a comb and some hairspray. So basically, what I'm going to do is take my comb in the beginning and use it to get as much hair back out of my face as possible. So we're going on all sides, you can hold it back with your hand just to keep it even. It doesn't have to be flat flat but it's nice to just have a hairstyle that's out of your face that kind of shows your face off. It's a different look than when you have your bangs down. So once you have most of the hair back, you're going to take a little bit of the pomade, about two fingers, coat the fingertips and just rub that through the fingers and then just use it to smooth back any flyaways that you have here. And if you have a strong part it might come up out the part like that and just smooth that down. And then we're going to take our comb again and slick it down. We take the comb, we slick it down, we go around all the sides. We still can have a little bit of height to it. We're not going for a flat look, just keeping it back and then you take your hairspray to set it and this will keep it looking nice all day. Just spray right around the roots and then use your fingers to pull it back. And our most essential tool that we used today was our comb. And that's how to get your hair to stay back with short hair.
