Hi, I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist and today I'm going to show you how to make lipstick stay on longer. My technique on set to make lipstick last is a layering technique. I start with a liner and I end with a long wearing formulation. So the color I'm going to use is roses in love, the Rouge in Love formulation by Lancome and this color is a beautiful blue pink. This formulation is a long wearing lipstick formula. So I'm going to begin with the liner and in order to put a good base of color down on Leah's lip, I'm going to fill in the entire lip area. I'm going to begin with the outer edges and then I'm just going to tint her lips with this lip liner and what that's going to do is enable me to have color on the lip even if some of the lipstick wears off at some point during the day. Lining the lips like this will help the lipstick from feathering throughout the day. I've chosen to line and fill in Leah's lips with a color that matches the lipstick but you can do it with a nude color that matches your lip color so it will look completely natural too if you have any fading later on in the day. This is also a waterproof formulation, that's going to really stay on the lips the longest. That's something to bear in mind too. So this really gives her some color and it's a great base from which now to build the lipstick color on top of. So bear in mind that putting a lip gloss over this is only going to defeat the purpose of it being a long wear lip so the shimmer that you can see in her lip is created by the crushed mother of pearl that is in this formulation. That gives you the essence of a gloss without having to put a gloss on. So this is a gorgeous look that I use in my work on set. You see this on the red carpet and the way to get that look is by layering those techniques that I mentioned, starting with a lip liner and finishing with a long lasting formulation lipstick. And that's how to make lipstick stay on longer. I'm Kendra Richards. Thanks for watching.
