Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark, professional hair stylist and salon owner, and today I'm going to show you how to make your hair fuller. So I'm going to show you my technique for blow drying the hair to add volume, show you what products to use and also another technique that I use to add a lot more height using pin curls. To achieve this look at home, use a round brush preferably bore bristle or natural bristle, a vented brush and a root lifter, a few alligator pins or even bobby pins and a blow dryer. So we're going to use the Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Root Booster. The great thing about a root boosting product is you can use it on dry or wet hair. So today with Brittany her hair's dry I'm going to go ahead and just take a little bit of product and put it in my hands and it's important to actually spray it in your hands rather than spraying it on the roots, break it down a little bit and then go right in the roots and just apply and at this point you'll start to feel the hair gets a little bit damp and then as you keep rubbing it in it starts to evaporate and the product gets a little tacky and that's when you know it's ready. So once the hair is prepped with the product, then that's when you go in with the blow dryer. So the main point with getting volume is to over-direct the hair opposite the direction that it's laying, so I'm just going to go in with my hands and start blow drying that hair, pushing the hair up on both sides and using the head shape to sort of shape the hair. So you can use a little bit more product as you work through the hair, going right underneath at the nape and trying to get as much as you can into the crown area as well. You can get a lot more tension with your fingers then you can with a brush. So I like to go in and do the roots first. Okay, and the 2nd thing is once you've blow dried the hair a bit you can feel the hair still warm. You want to just work that hair a little bit until it cools down, just kind of keep it in that up position. Once it's cool then you can drop it back and you'll start to see all that volume so at home you'll want to go ahead and do this root lifting technique through the whole head and you'll get volume throughout and then to really maximize your volume another technique that I like to do at home is to actually pin curl the hair. So basically I'm just going to demonstrate that to you so you've lifted the roots with your blow dryer then go back with the round brush, blow dry it into a circle, just put a little bit of body into the hair, again lifting straight up and I don't want to just brush through that hair I want to keep it wrapped around the brush so that it retains it's shape as quickly as possible while the hair's still warm, wrap it around your finger, create a curl and just pin it right to the roots. So I'm going to go ahead and pin the rest of the head right through the top but I'm actually going to be pulling all the curls up here and pinning at the crown. Okay, so you can see, went ahead and finished all the curls just want to point out that all the pieces of hair actually pulled completely up to the top of the crown and when you let it cool in that position that's going to give you all of your volume. Okay, so you can start pulling the pins from the back of the hair starting at the back and letting it drop to the bottom. So you can really see with the roots lifted just how much volume you're getting on top there, you have all kinds of height and then you just want to go in with your fingers and lightly break it up. So you can really see a difference between Brittany's hair before and her hair now. There you go, there's a few tricks for making your hair look fuller. I'm Jeremy Clark, thanks for watching.
