Hi, I'm Krysta, hair stylist in Tampa, Florida, and today I'm going to talk to you about ideas for casual medium length updos. For this, I'm going to use bobby pins, hairspray, a comb, and hair ties. The first thing that I'm going to do, I'm starting off with my natural kind of hair texture, so the first thing that I'm going to do is leave this area out, pulling the hair over to one side. I'm going to take it and I'm going to start a braid but I'm not going to finish the braid. So take it into three sections, like so. Then I'm going to take that braid and wrap that up and the reason why I just kind of did a small braid like that was because it's basically to kind of hold the hair into place. You're going to wrap it up, take a bobby pin and usually when you're wrapping your hair up in a bun, wherever you're holding your fingers to secure the bun with your fingers, that's exactly where the bobby pins need to go. And always criss cross your bobby pins. And I kind of like it when my hair comes over my ear for that softer look. And I'm using long bobby pins just because I have thick hair. If your hair is a different texture, a finer texture, you can use shorter. With that piece that I left out, you're going to take that and I'm going to do a quick little braid there. Bringing the braid back towards my ear. And I'm going to leave the end out, as you can see. I'm going to take another bobby pin, pin it right there. And then on the other side I'm going to add in another little braid going back. You don't really have to add in this other little braid. You can leave it down if you want to. I just like the idea of having more texture in my hair. Go back towards your ear. Take it and pin it with your bobby pin. So that's an idea for a casual medium hair updo. My main ingredient in this was my bobby pin. I hope this helps you at home, my name is Krysta. Thanks.
