About the Expert
Hi, my name's Ana, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to hide acne scars for tan skin. There's two products I'm going to use. I'm going to start by priming my skin with a little bit of face primer. And, I'm also going to use a full coverage concealer in my skin tone. It's really important to prep your skin with a little bit of face primer. Sometimes, acne scars can leave a rough texture on the skin, or they can even leave small little holes. So, by putting a little bit of primer on, it just makes the skin look really smooth, so that the concealer will blend really well onto the skin. Next, I'm going to take my full coverage concealer. Now, you can use a brush for this, but I'm simply just going to use my finger, and I'm going to pat into the skin. Acne scars tend to leave dark spots, sometimes they're red, sometimes they're brown. Mine are brown, so I'm just going to go ahead and use a pink toned concealer that'll help to offset that dark brown pigment. Usually, foundation will not do the trick, so you definitely have to go to something with a little bit of a fuller consistency, which concealer's a really good option for. If you're shopping around for a concealer, and you're just not finding a really good consistency, you can't find anything that's enough coverage, you may want to look into professional makeup artistry brands that offer makeup for HD, High Definition, television or film, or for theatrical type makeup. Just because you're spot treating with it doesn't mean your whole face is going to look like you're wearing full coverage. Using a concealer every day will definitely help to hide acne scars. You may also want to try using a really good exfoliator. Or, see your dermatologist to see what kind of cream he may be able to give you to help lighten dark acne spots.
