Hi, my name is Brandie Johnson, and I'm a makeup artist in the LA area. Today, I will be showing you how to cover acne scars on dark skin. Today, when applying the makeup to cover the acne scars, we're going to be using a small rounded brush to help give a smoother application. Also, because acne scars tend to be more on the red side, you want to use a green based concealer to cover the acne scars because this will allow you to cancel out the red of the irritation coming through. When applying the concealer, you want to make sure that you concentrate on the area in which the acne scar is and you just want to keep gently applying the green concealer in that concentrated area and make sure you don't overdo it because you don't want to overcompensate trying to cover the area and just use a little bit at a time in moderation and it will help. The green is a really really great color to use when covering the red acne scar because it will cancel out that red that's coming through the skin because it is irritated from the acne. So, when you're applying it, just apply it gingerly so that you don't add any extra irritation to the already aggravated area and just keep applying as so and make sure that you thoroughly blend and get enough of the green on the area. Now remember, to hide acne scars on dark skin with makeup, you're going to want to make sure you purchase a green concealer along with a small flat round makeup brush to apply and once it's been applied, make sure you follow with your regular makeup regimen of either a foundation or a pressed powder and that's how you apply makeup to cover acne scars on dark skin.
