Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm a fashion stylist. Having lived in New York City for about a decade, I became an expert on dressing for inclement weather. When it rains, rain boots are a no-brainer. Our model, Heather, can show you what I'm talking about. She is wearing a tall black pair of rain boots from Walmart.com, so they are affordable. I think, despite their low price tag, they are incredibly chic and expensive looking. I like black because it goes with everything, and again, I think it looks sophisticated and grown up. Some people go for the pattern, or brightly color rain boots. I think these are great if you're a teen or a young adult, but mature women walking in polka dotted covered boots? Not on my watch. There are two features of these boots that I love. First, the side zip. If you buy a pull-on pair, they can be tricky to get on and off, especially a more fitted pair. The second feature I love, the heel. This is a two and a half inch heel on a rain boot. Got to love that. These are great over slim fitting jeans and leggings. I prefer leggings, because they are soft, comfortable, and they keep you warmer on those cold, rainy days. I paired the leggings and boots with a black turtleneck sweater, and a hot pink trench coat. A classic trench is also a must-have in the rain. Heather looks elegant and polished. There's no reason why you can't keep dry and your sense of style, even when it's pouring rain.
