Hi, I'm Krystal, and I'm a hairstylist in Tampa, Florida, and today I'm going to show you a formal hairstyle for medium length hair. For this segment, you'll need hairspray, a ponytail holder and bobby pins. The first thing that I'm going to do is section out the front parts of my hair. So you're going to take from the top down to the top of the ear and you can just section that out. We're going to clip that out, same thing over here, top to the top of the ear and clip this out. Then, I want you to take a section back here. This is like the crown of the hair, of the head rather, take a comb, tease that area, not too much teasing, just because we don't want like a big poof or anything. We just want the hair to stay centered and then you're going to bring this back section back and you're going to put it into a low ponytail and I'm using a brown ponytail holder so it will blend a little bit better with my hair than black. So, essentially this is what it's going to look like. Then you're going to take these pieces of hair and start taking diagonal sections like so and you're going to bring it back and wrap it around the ponytail and then pin it. So what that's going to look like I'll show you from the other side. Again, diagonal section like so, bring it back. Okay so that is going to cover your ponytail. Then you're going to take your comb and starting from the bottom you're just going to kind of lightly tease it and then that is going to get pinned back around the ponytail. Because the look that I'm going for is kind of like undone yet done at the same time. So let me show you what I'm doing here. I teased it so now I'm going to take this side. So there you have it, a formal hairstyle for medium length hair. My number one tool in this segment was a ponytail holder. I hope you can recreate this at home. I'm Krysta. Thanks for watching.
