About the Expert
Hi, my name is Ana, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you eye shadow ideas for tan skin tones. There's a few products I'll be using today. I'm going to start off by using a cream eyeliner in a brown bronze tone. I'm also going to use a cream eye shadow in a golden tone and a reddish brown eyeliner, two brushes. I'll be using a blending brush and a smudger brush. The first step is to take the light gold cream eye shadow and put a little bit on the back of your hand. Using your finger, pick up a small amount, apply it all over the eyelids from the lash line all the way up to the brow bone. So, this is going to give a nice highlight over the skin and it's also going to help the cream eyeliner to blend really well onto the skin. The look that I'll be doing today is a really easy way to apply a bronze look. So again, just start off by applying the cream eye shadow and the light gold all over the lid. The next step is going to be to take your blending brush and pick up some of the bronze gel eyeliner. You're going to want to apply this color all over the lid but don't go past the crease line. So just start off and blend from the inner corner to the outer corner. Essentially what we're doing is a really quick light bronze smoky eye and the fact that I'm using a gel eyeliner really is going to help the eye shadow to stay on all day. Once you have enough product on the eye go ahead and take a blending brush and just smooth it all over. Again, blending is key, so we just want to make sure that it looks well blended. You can also use your finger if you want to pick up some of the color. I have a little bit too much on this side so I'm just going to blend it out. Taking that same brush and the same color I'm just going to put a little bit on the lower lash line so I'm basically just wrapping the color onto the bottom part of the eyelid. Next, I'm going to move on to the reddish brown eyeliner and I'm going to place it in the inner rim of the eye. The reddish brown eyeliner is going to darken up the eye but because of the red it's going to give a little bit of a pop of color. This is a really great eyeliner to use especially if you have green eyes. It's really going to enhance that eye color. I have a little bit of a lighter brown eye but I tend to have specks of green in there whenever I use tones like this. For best results, apply two coats of mascara to complete the eye look and also go ahead and add a soft peach tone blush and a complementary lip color. Thanks for watching.
