Hi, I'm Daniela Rowson. I'm a hairstylist, and I'm going to show you how to do an emo hairstyle for long hair. The products that we will need are: a hair dryer, a flat brush, a teasing comb, and hairspray. So the first step will be drying the hair so that the bangs go the direction you want. So my hair is already damp in the top and I'm going to use the flat brush to make sure that the bangs go the way I want them. So we're going to start drying it. And my hair naturally goes this way, so I'm just going to dry it this way, and you want the bangs to be a little more dramatic, so you want to go past your natural hairline. If you want more of a wave, you can go back and forth. And this works better, too, if your hair has already been flat ironed or dried straight. So now that we have the bangs the direction that we want them, we're going to start back combing the hair. Emo hair is usually really has lots of volume in the top and then not so much in the ends of the hair, so most of it is up here and then the rest is straight down. So when back combing, you want to start at the root and then work your way up, and that will give you a really good base and it'll hold the volume better. And then after that, you want to spray it with a flexible hold hairspray. We do the same thing, so start at the root and then work your way up. Spray it again. And we actually want really dramatic volume up top. And this looks helps too if you have more layers in the hair. Lots of back combing for this look. We're going to do this other side over here. So now that our hair is back combed, it looks kind of crazy, so now we're just going to kind of softly comb it down, just to hide the back combing. You still want to keep the volume there. And you want to make sure that your hair, your bangs kind of dramatically fall in front of your eyes, just like one eye. And like I said, it helps if you have more layers. You want to make sure that the bottom layers are nice and straight. The key to having emo hair is to have a lot of volume on the top and just keep the bottom really straight. My name is Daniela Rowson, and thanks for watching.
