Hi, I'm Erin and I'm a fashion stylist. The bot shoe is not only practical for sailing, they're also great for kicking around in the summer time. That's because they are so incredibly comfortable. But it can be tough to make this somewhat masculine shoe look chic. Our model, Heather is wearing one classic look, perfect for your new boat shoes. I put her in some tailored, ankle length, stone colored cotton pants from J.Crew. I think, ankle length is nicer in the summer than Capri length, because it highlights a much tinier part of your leg, your ankle. Capri length on the other hand, hits about mid-calf that's one of the wider spots on your leg. She could also wear a cute pair of khaki shorts, to keep cooler and show off a bit more leg. On top, she's wearing a cotton, airy buttoned down shirt, also from J.Crew. Again, it's classic, yet practical, because it's light weight. Since this look is pretty casual, I kept the accessories minimal, she's just wearing a simple, wooden bangle. Finally, on her feet, a pair of slip-on boat shoes by Sperry. I like that these are skin colored, so they make her legs look a little longer. If you're going to invest in a boat shoe, Sperry is one of the best. And you can always look for them on sale at places like DSW. Keep in mind also, that with the boat shoe, the more beat-up they are, the better, well, within reason.
