I'm Emily Golie, professional hairstylist, and we are going to talk today about how to take care of your hair if it's been damaged because of coloring. One of the first things that I always tell people is going lighter is definitely more harsh on your hair than being darker. And also, being darker, you have to get it done less often. So, if it's something you are worried about, try to add some lowlights or do a darker color. And darker hair always appears a little bit healthier 'cause it's usually a little shinier. That is one of the most important things. Another important thing is using protein in your hair. There are protein conditioning treatments, or there are also protein heat protectants that you can put on your hair before you apply the heat, that will protect your hair from the heat and add that protein that's been stripped out because of the coloring. So, a great thing to add, if your hair has been damaged because of color, is protein. But always remember that you can apply too much protein so don't put, don't use a protein conditioning treatment every single day. Use it maybe once a week. I'm Emily Golie, thanks for watching.
