About the Expert
Hi, I'm Chantelle Tarride, and I'm a professional makeup artist. And today, I'll be showing you how to do daily makeup for tan skin. I like to start off with maybe a light pink. This particular light pink has awesome reflection of gold undertones in there. You can kind of catch that in the light. Things like this go great with tan skin. Anything light pinks, because we have a natural pink to gold undertone. I particularly have a nice pink undertone, and because this eye shadow actually has the gold, it's naturally going to kind of blend into my tan. And so, I'm going to brush this color over my entire lid with my eye shadow brush. This is a flat eye shadow brush that I'm using here. Nice and thick, so it's picking up all the color. As you can see, this is a very sheer pink, but still, when it's hit by the light, the reflection is beautiful. It's very illuminescent. So, the whole idea for everyday makeup is to find a shade that you can find yourself comfortable wearing on a daily basis, that it almost compliments your skin, but the same time, looks and feels like you're wearing nothing. This is a very, very pretty tone, goes great almost on every skin tone, but particularly for tan, I feel that it kind of brings out the natural glow. And, that's step one. Now, for step two, we're going to highlight the brow bone. Again, with an everyday makeup, you want to use as least amount of products as possible. So, now with this, we're going to go with a nice highlighter with a gold undertone, more of a yellow base. Take your eye shadow brush, take of any excess, go straight onto your brow bone, and you can just blend downward into that nice pink. Because we're only using two products, you want it to be very natural, and yet stand out, which is why we're using a nice frosted highlighter. You're going with the least amount of product as possible, and yet making it real nice. I'm just going to clean my eyebrows, because where this is an everyday look, you want your eyebrows to be very nice and clean, because the less you use, but the more you perfect, it kind of balances out itself. You're making yourself look very natural, even though you did very little, and yet it's beautiful. And, last but not least, you can always go in and finish off with a nice mascara. You don't need eyeliner for everyday. Again, you want to use as least amount of products as possible. And with this, I like to kind of swoosh back and forth. What this is doing is actually coating each eyelash that I may not be getting in. Don't try to go too far in to your actual eye duct with the mascara, because that's going to actually close the eye, gives a closing effect. The more you do on the outside, the more coats, you get this very flirty lift on the outside of your eyes. And, you just brush back and forth, and this is going to open up your eyes, illuminate your eyes. And, you are ready for your day. Hope you enjoy these daily makeup tips for tan skin.
