Hey, my name is Cristy, and I'm a hairstylist. Today, I'm going to teach you how to do a side bun on short hair. First, you'll need a curl stick or curling iron, second, a teasing brush. Third, some strong hold hairspray, fourth, rubber bands, I like the small rubber bands, they're easier to hide in the hair. And last but not least, some bobby pins. O.k., so, step one, I found that in order to control curly hair, the best thing to do is, put some wave into it. That's going to give you a little bit easier time, molding the hair into place. So, taking your curl stick, section by section, randomly wrap curls in the hair. And you want to wrap the hair around the curl stick, until it's warm to the touch and then, you release it. Step two, keeping in mind that the hair is easier to mold, when you have a little bit of curl and texture in it. We're going to use our teasing brush, and just gently break up those curls in the hair with a little bit of teasing. And you'll work through the front, back and sides of your hair. It doesn't need to be a lot, just enough to give you a little bit more hair to work with. O.k., now, moving on to step three. Depending on the length of your hair, you may create one, two, or three different ponytails in he hair. So, I'm going to go ahead and split my hair into two. The thing you want to remember, is to keep your ponytails close together. So, basically you're creating a thicker, wider ponytail by using multiple sections. And you position your ponytail, where you want your side bun to be. So, I position my side, just on the side off, to behind the ear. Alright, now, on to step four. For step four, you're going to need your bobby pins. The first thing that you're going to do is, create a twist, starting from the side of your hair, and working all the way around to the back of the hair. Now, the great thing about this is, even the shortest hair can get back into that twist. Once you've twisted the hair, you're going to go ahead and take your pins. And with each pin, go up and then, flip around and under. And you'll do that in just a couple places throughout twist, to keep it secure. O.k., now, step five, the final step, this is where you can get creative. I like to use my teasing brush and some hairspray, in order to get my side bun just right. So, basically, what I'm going to do is, use my teasing brush to give myself a little more hair, and to blend my two ponytails and my twist together. So, those were the steps to create a side bun on short hair. I hope you like it, thanks.
