Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark, Professional Hairstylist and Salon Owner, and today I'm going to show you how to do a high updo. Okay, so, on our model Chloe, I'm going to take all of her hair back, I'm going to create a ponytail with some height right in here to the crown. And then, since she has bangs, I'm going to go ahead and take her bangs and back-comb and we're going to get a nice, kind of rock and roll pompadour look right here in the front. Okay, so to get this look, we need some bobby pins, some hair elastics, a boar bristle brush, a back-combing comb, a vented brush and a hairspray that has a lot of hold. And for the hairspray today, I'm going to be using the Garnier Fructis Full Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray. Okay, so to achieve this look, I'm going to put a little back combing into the crown area and also in the front. So, I'm going to start by sectioning out this top area right here using a rat tail comb. Okay, then, we're going to section out the bangs and starting right in the front, I'm going to start my back-combing. Take a section, pull it straight up, over direct and do some teasing at the base and then, just lightly go ahead and tease right on that, through that strand. Let that fall and do the next section. Hold straight up and then over direct forward, back comb the roots and tease it right on that through the rest of the strands. I'm going to do this all the way through the top section of the hair. Okay. So, the top section's been back-combed; you can see there's lots of height, lots of volume and I'm going to go ahead and pull all the hair back into a high ponytail. I'm going to start with this section first, all the way from behind the ear. We're just going to pull that right into a ponytail. And you don't want to pull this too tight 'cause you want to keep that height on top. Lightly brushing over the top of the back-combing, clearing up any tangles, take an elastic and create that ponytail. Go back and take some hair from underneath and just hide that pony with that elastic and tuck it in with a little bobby pin. And then now, I'm going to take the sides and feed those into the rest of the ponytail. Okay, so, I just back-combed the sides a little bit; then taking that whole side piece, I'm going to pin it right into the ponytail. So now, after I've back-combed the other side, we're going to feed that right into the ponytail as well and pin that. Now you can see we have the basic ponytail started. We have height on top and I'm going to go ahead and do the front. Same kind of thing, I'm going to pull out small sections, over direct and back-comb forward and then comb back. So, I'm just going to take the front section, small sections, starting at the very front and back comb all this hair together. I'm going to over direct forward and we're creating little pompadour here in the front. So, a look like this is going to be a little bit more rock and roll, little more edgy. It's, it's definitely dialed in and put together, but it has a little more attitude to it. You might war this hairstyle to a concert or to a party, somewhere where you can have a little more fun, feel a little more creative. Then, we're just going to take all that, smooth it together and take a little more spray and just brush away some of this fly aways. You can see that front pompadour is starting to form up. Take a little spray, continue getting rid of any fly aways and just giving it a little more shape. And that's a great trick is to actually smush it forward, it gives you the height in the front. Okay, and the hair is starting to want to twist, so I'm going to go ahead and let it twist, twist it into little shape here. And I'm going to pin that right where I'm holding it. And there you go, there's the final look. She's got a lot of attitude, it's fun, it's edgy and it's definitely something you could wear out to say a rock and roll concert or to a party, something like that; very hip. That's how you do a high updo; I'm Jeremy Clark, thanks for watching.
