About the Expert
Hi, I'm Christine. I'm a makeup artist and I'm going to show you what color eye shadow to wear if you have dark circles on olive skin. Basically if you have dark circles of course you want to conceal them with a concealer but also you want to draw attention upward and away from your dark circles. Definitely don't wear any colors that are going to mimic the colors down here, so no blues, no purples, no, you know, blacks or really deep browns. So, the things that you'll need today are some bright shadows. I'm going to use some golds, light and bright and also to draw our attention upwards I'm going to use an eyebrow pencil to pencil in the brows. You want to make sure you have nice chiseled brows so that attention goes upwards and to apply the shadow we'll need a couple brushes, a flat one for the eyelid and a curved fluffy one for the crease and brow bone. Let's get started. So, the first step is going to be to apply that light gold color on the actual eyelid. We're going to brighten up the whole eye area this way. So, you take that flat brush and you dip it into that light gold there. Gold looks really good on olive skin and we're going to just pat it onto the lid. So we're just going to tap it on there. I do suggest if your eyelids are oily or just in general, to wear an eye shadow primer and that will help to old on to your shadow. Patting it on is a nice tip because that way it doesn't get all over the place as if you were to sweep it on. Next, I'm going to take that fluffy brush and I'm going to dip it in the light gold and we're just going to apply it at the eyebrow bone to give off the highlight on the bone there. So, I'm just going to lightly sweep it there and blend the color that we did on the lid. I'm also going to use a little bit of this on the inner corners here and that will brighten up the area as well and you can even use this on the cheekbone here to highlight down there and that will help brighten underneath the eye. Now we're going to go in with your eyebrow pencil and we're going to draw to make your eyebrows nice and as dark as your natural hair color or a little bit darker and a little more precise. So, just get an eyebrow pencil that matches your eyebrow hair color and what I like to do is just draw underneath to follow your natural brow. And then pull it down to a point and then draw a line on top and if you want to curve your brow up a little bit more you can, totally up to you. Some people have great natural arches and some people have to kind of draw them in. Definitely if you have a lot of hair here, you know, or in between the brows I would go get, you know, a wax or a thread so that you can clean that up. Eyebrows do make a big difference, kind of change the face. And once you have your pencil the way you like it you could even fill it in with a brown eye shadow if you'd like. So, there you go. That is, how you can apply eye shadow to take away from any dark circles if you have olive skin. Remember to keep it light and bright, golds look great on olive skin and then also try to draw attention elsewhere, if you have great eyebrows, then you know, play those up or if you have, you know, wonderful lips then you can draw your attention elsewhere, definitely, you know, get some concealer to apply to the dark circles as well. So the must have item in this case I would say is the eyebrow pencil. If you don't use an eyebrow pencil already I would suggest getting one because it's a lot of fun and you can really transform your face and make you know, your eyes more sharp and more of a feature. Thanks for watching. I'm Christine. Bye.
