About the Expert
Hi I'm Spencer Barnes, celebrity makeup artist. Today I'm going to show you eye shadow colors that compliment green eyes. When I'm looking for colors that compliment green eyes, I look for colors that are harmonious that go with the green eyes, colors like greens, olives, golds, those kinds of tones are beautiful. So I'm going to use for this look, The Expertwear by Maybelline. Okay, so I'm going to start by using this soft kind of pearly green pale color right on the lid on the inside corner as a base and then on the lid I'll use this more olive green color on the outer half of the lid. The crease, we can use a little more intensity with the green and then this deep tone as a liner at the lash line. Let's get started. Starting with this pale light green color I'm going to come right onto the lid. You can also use your fingers as a nice added tool to get a little more richness of color deposited on the lid. A lot of people have green eyes or fair skin so you don't always necessarily have to use intense colors. They can also be soft and subtle. Maybe you'll use just a couple colors out of this palette or you could use the whole palette for a more vibrant look. Now I'm going to move on to the secondary color right on the lid. Now you'll notice the beautiful eye shadows are so complimentary with her green eyes. It's almost as if the iris color in her eyes extends onto her lid. That's a good sign that you've got a really nice complimentary shadow going. For Jean Louise today I've decided to forgo this little more intense vibrant green color and stick with these three. I'm going to use the deepest tone as a little bit of a liner right at her lash line so I'll come in with this detail brush right into the lash line giving just a little more added intensity to make the lashes look more dense and full. Here's a little insider tip, if you want to make the eye just a tad more vibrant and pop, you can use a more vibrant color right under the eye in the lash line here. That's a good way to get a little more vibrancy without going heavy on the top lid. So the key to this eye is keeping a beautiful balance in a compliment. You'll notice the colors really are about complimenting her eyes not so much contrasting. If you were to contrast, you get more into the purples and colors, pinks maybe that are much stronger in opposition to green on the color wheel and there are some eye shadow colors that compliment green eyes. I'm Spencer Barnes and thank you for watching.
