About the Expert
Hi, my name is Adrienne, I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to be showing you how to clear up acne for sensitive skin. The first part I'll be using, is just a gentle skin cleanser, it's going to help take off makeup, oil and any residue. And then, the second part is going to be a toner, to help remove any trace of makeup, dirt or oil. And then, our final product is going to be a moisturizer. And all these products are geared towards sensitive skin. For the first step, I'm going to take a little bit of our skin cleanser. And for acne prone skin, you want to use something that's really mild and that's geared towards sensitive skin. I'm just going to lather that up with a little bit of water. And I'm just going to begin to remove my makeup, and just going in a gentle massaging motion with my fingertips. A common mistake with people with acne prone skin, is that they'll use really harsh products, or scrubs to remove their makeup. And you don't want to do that, because that will actually hurt the skin. It's also good to use a rag to wipe off, because it'll just give you a soft exfoliation of the skin. Which will be really good to treat over any blemishes. And if you notice any redness, that is o.k., just a little bit of redness is o.k. It just means that your skin is just, you're just locking off any dead skin cells from removal of the makeup. O.k., then for the second step, we're going to take a cotton pad and some toner, just using a very gentle toner. And this is just going to be used to remove any excess oil, makeup, or dirt. You can start in the center and work around the face. The places you really want to focus on, are around the corner of the nose, or sides of the nose, the chin area and forehead. This is commonly called the T-zone area, forehead, nose and chin. This is the area that tends to get the most breakouts, especially the chin area, as you can see, I have one right here. So, this is really, really good to make sure you are using your toner. And then, once you see all the makeup on your cotton pad, then you know that it is, you're done. The final step, is moisturizer. So, I'm going to use an oil-free moisturizer. Oil-free is great, because most people with acne prone skin tend to be very oily. So, you want to help control that oil with an oil-free moisturizer. And using your fingertips again, and just massaging. This is very important to do this in the morning and evening. And that is how you clear up acne for sensitive skin. Don't forget your three essential items, which are, a gentle cleaner, a toner and an oil-free moisturizer. Thanks for watching.
