Hi, my name is Ana, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to clear up acne for combination skin. There's a few products I'm going to use to achieve this. I'm going to start off by using cleansing and makeup remover wipes, an exfoliating mask, a toner for combination skin, a moisturizer for combination skin and salicylic to spot treat the acne. So the first step is to take the cleansing wipe and dip it in water to dampen your skin. The cleansing wipe will already have makeup remover on it but we really need to have damp skin so that the exfoliator will roll onto the skin. So we're just going to run it all over the face. I found that circular motions really help to pick up the makeup a lot easier so if you have acne prone skin or you have combination skin it's really important to clean your face morning and night especially if you're wearing makeup every day. You definitely want to wash your face so that the makeup doesn't sit into the pores and then you end up having breakout. So as you can see a pretty good amount of makeup ended up coming off on my cleansing wipe. So next, I'm going to take the exfoliator and I'm going to apply a small amount into the cleansing wipe. It's really important to exfoliate your skin one to two times a week. This is going to really help to pick up impurities, make dead skin come off and help new skin cells come up to the surface. It's just a really good way to get a deep cleaning. So again we're going to run the exfoliator all over. It's really important to avoid the eye area when using an exfoliator just because it could damage the eye area. Also another great thing about exfoliating it just makes the skin look smooth, gives it a nice radiance, a nice glow. You'd be surprised how much more makeup will come off when you use an exfoliator. It really gets deeper into the pores. Now I'm going to remove the exfoliator by using a new cleansing wipe and a little bit of water. You can certainly dip your face into water or use your hands to clean your face if you'd like. This works just as good as well. I used a physical exfoliator which is actually having little tiny beads pull up impurities in the skin but there's also chemical exfoliators on the market which will come in maybe like little pads that have alpha hydroxies in them. Those work just as good. I'm now going to return the pH balance into my skin by using a toner for normal combination skin. Using a cotton ball I'm going to apply some of the toner onto a cotton ball. Using a toner is going to return the pH balance in your skin. It's basically going to equal out the oil and water in your skin which is what pH balance means. That's really good and it's really important to do that so that your moisturizer works effectively. So I'm going to take a small amount of lotion and apply it all over the face. Even if you have oily skin or oily normal combination skin and you tend to have a little bit of acne, you still need to use a moisturizer because if your skin doesn't get enough hydration what it does is it produces more oil because it's thirsty and then when that happens you end up breaking out more. So using a moisturizer every day is really important. The last step in the skin care regimen is to use salicylic acid to spot treat any kind of acne and this basically acts as a repair to the skin. The salicylic acid will clean it, it will help to repair it, get rid of the impurity and within a day or two it should be gone from the skin. So it's a really great product to use to spot treat. You don't want to use it all over because it may dry out your skin but just spot treat in those areas that need it the most. Washing your face morning and night is really important to maintaining healthy skin. So find a skincare regimen that works for you. Thanks for watching.
