Hi, my name is Joanna and I'm a Hairstylist. I know most of you think that the quickest way to blow dry your hair is by flipping your head upside down, blow drying your hair and then, curling it and or flat ironing it. But, all you're really doing is creating more work for yourself and the finish. The secret is a perfect blow dry and it's going to cut down your finish time by half. So,here's what you need to get started. You're going to take your brush and you're going to start on the front. You're going to focus on the front first. You're going to take your brush and your blow dryer and you're just going to comb your hair into the brush and you're going to do it kind of like a dog chasing a cat technique; that's what I like to call it. So, your blow dryer's the dog, the brush is the cat. And you're just going to kind of chase the brush with the blow dryer; just really blowing it and smooth and down. And once the front is done, you're going to drop the brush and start right at the root area. You really want to focus in getting the roots dry first and then focus on the rest 'cause this is the foundation of the style. It's going to give you that extra lift when you go to flat iron it or curl it. So, you're just going to take the hair and pull it up in towards the front and hold it 'till it's dry. You're just going to keep doing this, pulling and holding all the way around the front until everything is dry; really focusing in on the root first. Alright, once the root and the base of the hair is all dry at the top, then, you're going to take your brush and continue that cat-dog chase thing. You're just going to lift your hair up and just brush it down. The roots are already dry; this is just sealing that cuticle down. Sealing and all the way down since the roost are already dry. All this is doing is smoothing out all the rest of the hair, 'cause when you blow your hair upside down, all you're doing is blowing your cuticle wide open. So, your hair is just fuzzy and frizzy and it's a lot of work to curl it or flat iron it. So, that's why this technique, the brush, is just allowing the blow dryer to just focus in on certain areas while you chase it with the blow dryer. So, just keep doing it all the way to the top 'cause all these part is already dry. So, now we're going to move onto the bottom and this way you're just going to keep doing the same thing, kind of curling the hair into the bottom, curling it under once you get to the end. Curling it under. You're just going to continue to do that all the way, all the way down, just really smoothing it down 'cause all this is going to need you to do is maybe focus on those ends to really seal it in. And that is the secret to a salon style blow out.
