Hi, my name is Liz Nevin, I'm a professional hair stylist. And today, I'm going to show you how to blow dry short hair. So the tools we are going to be using are a blow dryer, a nozzle, a comb, a smoothing serum, and a styling cream. So first we are going to start by applying the smoothing fluid. I'm going to just put a dime size amount in my hand. You don't want to use too much or too little. So a dime size is about a perfect amount. Then we rub it into our hands to emulsify the product. This makes sure you apply it evenly throughout the hair. Then I like to start applying the product to the back first and then just working it way to the front and the top. You are applying it to the back first so that it doesn't get all in one spot. If you were to apply it to the top first it might just sit there and make your hair look greasy. And we are going to apply the nozzle to the blow dryer. The nozzle is going to direct the air flow, make it easier for you to get it nice and smooth. And it will make it a little easier for you to blow dry the hair as well. And now I'm just going to start in the back. It's combed into the place where you want it to go. So we are going to turn our blow dryer on high heat and high speed starting in the back section. Though our steps are we are starting in the back section. We are going to start by using our fingers. The blow dryer is going to pointed down towards the hair. The nozzle is going to really help direct the air flow and it's just going to keep it nice and smooth. And your fingers will act as your brush. If you feel like you need to use your comb for a little bit more control you can. Once you get the back nice and dry you are going to move on to the sides. You'll do side by side doing it the same manner in which you did the back. Your nozzle directing the hair flow down. And just using your fingers or your comb if you need a little bit more control. Then once you get onto the top you are going to break the top into sections. You are going to go section by section working until you get to where you, where the top stops. And then you are just going to do it the same way you did everything else either using your fingers or you comb. And making sure the nozzle is really directing where the hair is going. So the last step is you are going to be applying the styling cream. Just going to start with a little bit on our fingertips. It's better to start with a little bit and then you can always build on. So if you use too much at the beginning you might have to go back and wash your hair and do it all over again. So we are going to rub it into our hands this way it's easier to apply evenly to the hair. And just like the first product we are going to be starting in the back just working it through. You can make it look real crazy then you can always lay it down. And you just kind of move it around until you like what it looks like. And there we are. That's how you blow dry short hair. Thanks for watching.
