Hi, my name is Kathryn Fernandez, and I'm a makeup artiest in Los Angeles, California. I'm going to show you how to apply my version of white makeup to the oval eye shape. These are the tools that you will need a shadow brush, a crease brush, an accent color. Which I'm choosing bright yellow, white eye shadow and also a cream white eye shadow. Alright let's get started. The first step that your going to do, I'm using my fingers is to apply a coat of the white eye shadow all the way around the eyes. This is what we refer to as a wash of color. My desire is to completely create a white canvas. You'll need to do this a little quickly because cream eye shadows do dry down and they set and we have a bit more to do before that is allowed. It doesn't have to be flush because we're actually going to create that using the powder eye shadow. But what you'll want to do is to get in there and create a nice wash then using the powder eye shadow, polyester bright. Your going to take your shadow brush and your white eye shadow and gently pat down to create a nice opaque white. So, as you may have gathered, this particular look is not for the faint of heart it's a rather obstruct look and use of white eye shadow. However I'm going to show you a really cool effect that will really play up our oval shape eye. OK, now here's where it gets slightly complicated your going to take your brown eye shadow and your crease brush and what your going to do now is actually using the brown eye shadow. Your going to very, very, very, very carefully create a shadow in your crease. And the way, the best way to do this is to start at the outside of the eye and gently tap, brush, swipe anyway you can just a really, really faint shadow in the crease area. And the reason you want to be extraordinary gentle in this manor is because of the fact that you have so much glitter on your eyes already you don't want it to end up here. OK, so just a little bit of patience and you kind of help define that lovely crease in your eyes. For this particular effect with the yellow eye shadow I'm actually going to use a slightly smaller shadow brush and this is because we're about to be really specific in placement. So, another little tip is I like to slightly moisten the brush when applying eye shadow to specific areas to not only control where the eye shadow lands but to also simplify clean up. Not having to clean up your face is a really, really good sign of a good makeup artiest and proper technique. Although gravity is gravity. So you moisten your brush just slightly to the touch and your going to take your yellow eye shadow any color you want. I prefer really bright colors and yellow is often over looked when it comes to eye shadow. And what your going to do is primarily concentrating on the center of your eyes your going to create an accent and the reason is, is one thing I love about my eye shape is the fact that this particular area will really, really pop if you just let it. So all I'm doing is taking the bright shadow from the center of my eyes and I'm dragging it a little underneath so you'll see the concentrated area is at the center of the eye to where my pupil starts. That right there that's home for us. Alright again and then your tacking from the concentrated area and brushing it upwards lifting the brush every time so you get kind of a cool fade effect in to your eye brow area. Then I'm really playing up the effect of the oval eye shape. Glitter eye liner, I love it, I know you do too. So because of we're playing with white today what we're going to do is for the rest of the eye although you may not think it's under looked we're going to really emphasize the lash line with the glitter eye liner. And the way that we do that is to begin right where the yellow meets the white eye shadow that's where you want to start your glitter eye liner. The reason I want to do this is although there is already plenty of glitter on my lid this will really help define your eye and really bring it home in terms of expertise. So again where the white meets the yellow all the way around. Actually, I take that back, not all the way around, all the way around the white area. Just to round it out I'm going actually take a little bit of black eye liner and redefine the inner rim of the eye and that's how I like to play with white eye shadow. Thanks for watching.
