Tracey Anderson

After Tracey Anderson graduated with a degree in Psychology from University of North Texas she moved from Texas to Los Angeles to New York. For two years Anderson worked between Maryse Felix and a few Manhattan salons to perfect my style and speed. Like many New Yorkers, Tracey Anderson relocated to Los Angeles because the industry is thick with opportunities in every medium of production work. Anderson has worked repeatedly in them all keying in both hair and makeup for television, commercials, music videos, short films, feature films, print work, celebrity clients, corporate videos, weddings and salons. She is also known specifically for high definition work, grooming, black hair, and makeup. Tracey Anderson's philosophy is to make people feel comfortable with the look created by the director. She likes natural, even when she has created a highly stylized look it will be soft, not harsh and distracting. Oh yeah, and she is fast! It is difficult to define the highlight of my career because after 12 years there have been so many. Each year I set a goal which I meet. Year one it was to be invited to do makeup in a top salon in NYC. Year two was to have so many wedding clients that I could share the work. Year three was to start in production and see my work on television. Year four to key fashion shows and photo shoots. Year five to key television shows and see my name in the credits. Year six to have crew locators and agencies call me for jobs due to my reputation. Year seven to have so much production work I can pass jobs on to colleagues. Year eight key on a feature film. Year nine obtain a position on a network television show. Year ten to finish up my hours and get in IATSE 706. Year eleven to sharpen my special effects skills and become a Journeyman. Year twelve has just started, but I know what I will work toward. Credits: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0027534/

Hi, I'm Tracey. I'm a makeup artist, and I'm going to show you how to do simple eye makeup for blue eyes. The tools that you'll need are concealer, powder, shadow, just one color, mascara, a brush for the powder, a brush for the shadow and your eyelash curler. The first step in creating a simple eye makeup look for blue eyes is concealer because the blue of the eyes can reflect in the blue under the eye, you want to make sure and neutralize that. I also like to use the concealer as a primer for the eye shadow. That way you don't have to use as much eye shadow to color over any veins or discoloration in the lids. So, just do a bit of a stripe underneath the eye and a bit underneath the eyebrow and just use your finger to warm it up. Start underneath the eyebrow where we really want to get a nice pop from your concealer and then blend it down to the lid. So, from up there and then from what you have left on your finger, just pat down on the eyelid. After you've concealed your eye, now you need to powder because there's oils in the concealer and that can crease your shadow later. So, you want to set the concealer with a powder. Just use whatever you use for the rest of your face and use a fluffy eye shadow brush so you can really get it in there to set it underneath and on top of the eye. So, I'm going to just lightly powder under the eye and then lightly powder on the lid. Now that your concealer is set, we can follow with the eye shadow. Since we're doing a simple eye makeup look for every day to bring up the blue in your eyes, I'm just going to use one color of eye shadow. We kind of cheated and got a second color of eye shadow when we did our concealer and our powder. So, this color, I'm just going to do on the lid with the sable brush. The sable brush is going to pick up the color and lay it down evenly for you because the hairs distribute the color evenly. So, just run it along your eyelid, just covering the whole eye. Next we're going to curl the lashes because curling the lashes gives the illusion of having a liner, of having done more than you actually did and you're going to open up the eye and get a brighter eye when the lashes are curled and you get your mascara on. Give it three squeezes, one at the lash line, one at the middle and one in the end. So, look at your nose and just three nice firm squeezes. To finish our simple look, we're going to do a little mascara. I like to use a waterproof because waterproof mascara is going to dry and hold the curl of your lashes. When you open it you should get that little pop. Then you know it's fresh and then I like to wipe off the excess on the end because you don't want to have a run in with your nose and just start at the base and give it a little wiggle and work your way up to the tip of the lashes, giving a little wiggle at the end if going to give an eyeliner look and do the same for the other. Concentrate a little extra on the outer corner of your lashes and that's going to elongate your eye. Just a wash, just a little mascara on the bottom, just a bit of a wiggle as you go across the lash line. So that's it, it's a simple look for everyday to bring out the blue in your eyes, just concealer, powder, one color of eye shadow, a black mascara, a lash curler, two sable brushes, one for the shadow, one to apply the powder.
