About the Expert
Hi, my name is Brandie Johnson, and I'm a makeup artist in the Los Angeles area. Today, I'm going to show you how to apply powder mineral makeup to dark skin. When applying powder mineral makeup to dark skin, you want to make sure you use a Kabuki-style brush. These brushes are known to have a lot of bristles and allow for even smooth application. Also, you want to make sure that you purchase a powder mineral that is closest to your skin tone so that you do have a natural look. When applying the powder mineral makeup, you want to make sure that you lay the Kabuki brush flat against the skin and start in a circular motion working in an upward type of movement and just go all the way around the face in a circular motion. Using this motion allows you to have a more even and smooth consistency when applying the powder mineral makeup. And then, whenever need be, just go ahead and dab a little bit more on the brush, make sure you always shake off the excess so you do not have areas that look a lot more darker than the other and you just continue to work in circular motions all over the face until you get the even coverage that you want. And that's how you apply powder mineral foundation to dark skin. Thank you for watching.
