Hi, I'm Chantelle Tarride, and I'm a professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to apply powder makeup for tan skin. The first thing I'm going to do is take my powder makeup. Basically what you want to do, any foundation that comes in a powder-like form comes with a cap, it's best easiest to make it on yourself and less of a mess is to completely just dab it in to the actual top that it comes with. So now, you have a nice amount in the cap to work with. I'm going to take my foundation brush that is actually a powder brush for powder foundation. This is exactly what it is. It's a powder foundation. You want to actually swirl that foundation in there. You see how much excess I'm getting off? You want all of that off because a powder foundation is a very natural look for the skin. You want to just gently start buffering on this powder. It's a very light touch. You're not pressing this powder in because you don't want it to look heavy. You want it to simply have a very natural almost a veil of color over your actual skin tone. You get it into all those areas and as you can see I'm blending again down into my neck, into my ears all the way around, very light and that's step one. The next step I'm going to take my foundation brush for powder makeup. Same thing that I told you before, press that powder into the brush, take off any excess and now you're going to go into any areas that you want to cover up. This is contouring and this is concealing. So now I want to hide any dark circles. I'm going straight over the foundation that we put on because the same color so it doesn't actually, it's going to blend on its own really and I'm hiding all those dark circles that we get from lack of sleep right ladies? And even you can use this as a base now for your eye shadow that you plan on applying and even if you don't want to apply eye shadow over this base, this will at least give you a full coverage one even skin tone color and you can go all natural but it looks like I'm wearing nothing. Don't forget ladies when you are concealing, get right into this little area by the nose. It tends to get a little bit red there. Again we're trying to look for a very natural full coverage. You don't want to see any areas that aren't covered, concealed. It's all about looking as natural as possible. And the last thing you want to do, usually these powder foundations come in sets and it will finish off with a nice mineral veil. The mineral veil usually has a nice oil absorbing powder in there and this is exactly what it does. So the foundation that I just put on I'm going to go over with the actual mineral veil that it provides, swirl it in there. This one is a tinted mineral veil. So if you find out that the foundation that you have chose may have been a little bit lighter, because this is tinted, it's going to give me now my natural tan skin tone. Now I can even go over my eyes to give it an even color all over and what this is doing is absorbing any oil on my face, taking away any shine and the plus side to this is that most of these mineral foundations that they have now have SPF so you're protected and fully covered. So I hope you enjoyed all these tips on how to apply powder makeup for tan skin. This is Chantelle and thank you for watching.
