Hi, my name is Kathryn Fernandez, and I'm a makeup artist in Los Angeles, California. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a palate for each look that you have. Okay, a few things to keep in mind: You're going to want to have an idea of the look that you're going for. Right now, I'm wearing a natural kind of makeup, so I'm going to go over just the areas that you would need to cover. Generally, what you're going to need are eyes, cheeks, lips, and face. So, just keep those categories in mind. So, for the face, you can put a foundation on, you can use just a powder. I just have a little bit of anti-shine powder, and also some concealer for my face. And then, what you're going to do is choose your eye shadows. I'm using just a nude, and then, like, a crease color. So, you just have a, you know, a nude color, and then also your crease color, so that you can just have a little bit of contrast between the crease and your lid of the eye. For the next category is blush. I have just a little bit of blush on, and it's just a nice, rosy pink. And, you're going to use a blush brush for that. And then also, I have a little bit of eyeliner on the inside of my eyes, so black eyeliner, a Kohl pencil, K-o-h-l, for the inside of your eyes. And also, just a little bit of mascara, a black, just to kind of round out the eyes. And then, what you're going to do is actually choose your lip color. This can vary however you want it. It can be bright red, it could be black lipstick. It really is all up to you. That's kind of the fun of makeup, and the design of it, is that it's really up to you. There really are, you know, just limitless options. So, what I did for my lips, is I actually put just like a nude pinky lipstick, and then I just put a clear gloss over it. It's really up to you, I just like this look for kind of a natural look. So, really, the definition of a palate for a makeup artist is really just how you would define each category that you're going to fill. So, you're going to have a category for eyes, you're going to have a category for cheeks, face, and lips. So, basically, when you choose a palate, it's all colors that kind of look together, and really make it a complete look, because obviously, when you're applying makeup, it's to your entire face, not just your eyes, your lips, or your cheeks. So, again, for each category, it's eyes, lips, cheeks, and face. Have fun creating your palates. Thanks for watching.
