Hi, my name is Ana, and I'm a makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you how to apply cake eyeliner. Cake eyeliner is the ultimate accessory for drama. It can instantly change your look, and it an be worn during the day or at night. Let's get started. There are two tools that we'll be used to apply this look. Our first tool is an eyeliner brush. This brush is what we'll use to apply the gel eyeliner to our lash line. This brush is great because it gives precision lining. Our second tool is gel eyeliner. It's great because it glides on like a gel but dries like a powder giving a nice stylish look. When applying cake eyeliner it's important to prep your eyeliner brush. I'm going to take the brush and dip it into my gel pot. Make sure to wipe off any excess on the back of your hand or onto a tissue. Start by applying to the center of your lash line. Try to get as close as possible to your lash line, and I like to begin by doing small lines from corner to corner. Once you have a series of small lines, go back two to three times with your eyeliner brush and blend them all together. You can dip back into your gel pot if you need more product. Again, start in the center. This is the best place to start, because this is where you're going to deposit the most amount of product, and if you start in the inner corner, you're going to have too much product in the inner corner of the eye. Small lines, if you want you can lift your lash line by lifting the brush towards the end here, and this will kind of elongate it and make it look a little bit more cat eye-like. Remember, go back and connect those small lines two to three more times, just to get a nice, full even blend. Sometimes, using your finger really is great for correcting any kind of over applying. You can see I have corner-to-corner coverage, and it's a nice, full black line. Take a step back, make sure that both your eyes look equal. I can see I have a little bit more in this eye, so I'm going to even it out on the other eye. Applying cake eyeliner will take about three to five minutes to complete. The most important thing to remember when doing this application is to take your time. Get a nice, smooth line on your lash line, and that's why our essential item is our eyeliner brush. Together, the items that I used today range anywhere from $25 to $50. So, find what works for you. Thanks for watching.
