Hello, I'm Kristy Charlier professional aesthetician and today I'm going to talk to you about how antioxidants help your skin. Antioxidants are free radical scavengers, they are the skins natural protectants. They go around and find unhealthy cells and actually eat them so cleaning up the skin and destroying the cells that create havoc in our body. Free radicals are spawned from internal and external stresses. These include metabolism within the body and external, the UV rays of the sun, pollution, household cleaning products. Free radicals attack healthy cells causing cellular degeneration. This leads to premature aging and that is indicative with your fine lines, pigmentation in the skin. So one of the, the main culprits of free radical damage is UV rays. That's why you always want to protect your skin and even skin of color with at least a 30 SPF. The best way to protect your skin is using sunscreen. So today we're going to use on Chelsea the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen SPF 50. So you want to grab a little bit of the product and make sure you're applying this product at least like 20 minutes before going out into the sun. This is a lightweight formula and it's a broad spectrum UVA and UVB so will protect against the burning rays of the sun and also the aging rays of the sun. It actually is infused with powerful antioxidants such as your Vitamin E and white grapeseed oil. This will protect the surface of the skin for free radical damage. Vitamin A and Vitamin C are other great antioxidants to look for in your products. Vitamins like Vitamin A have been proven to change the DNA of the cells so when you've got a damaged cell it's actually goes in there and repairs. Vitamin C has been known to function with amino acids in the making of collagen. As you can see from Chelsea's skin this a lightweight formula that's not going to clog her pores. It's an oil free known comedogenic product. You want to make sure that you are going to reapply this product at least after 90 minutes especially if you are outdoors. So that's how antioxidants improve your skin. I'm Kristy Charlier, thank you for watching.
