Hi, I'm Joanna and I'm a Hairstylist. There's a few things you should know when choosing a flat iron that's right for you. The first thing I would say is find a price that you're comfortable with. But, just know that most of the time this is a quite an investment. But it's very much worth it. The second thing I would say is find one that's about an inch to an inch to a quarter wide. This way you can get it as close to the scalp as you possibly can, giving you guys the best results. The third thing I would say is find one that has a temperature gauge, right on, right where the on switch. This way you can control the temperature. They're usually from about two hundred to four hundred degrees. So, let's say, if you've got coarse, thick hair, I'd crank it all the way up to the highest heat. But, if you've got finer, thin hair, I would keep it at the, one of the lower settings, just so you don't damage your hair from the heat of the flat iron. And one last thing that I think is very important is when storing your flat iron or traveling with it, don't wrap the cord around the flat iron 'cause it's going to damage your plates or short out your cord. So, what i would suggest you do is take the cord and just kind of fold it or wrap it around itself and then, get some Velcro and wrap it around the cords, keeping it separate from the flat iron. So, it's going to protect your cord from getting shorted out and protect your plates from getting burn. Hopefully these tips are helpful in you choosing the flat iron that's right for you.
